This month, The Press is talking to the certified athletic trainers responsible for diagnosing and treating injuries for student-athletes at local high schools. This week, we focused on Randi Cherill of East Hampton High School.
Ask Randi Cherill about her first experience with physical therapy and she’ll say she hated it, which is surprising, considering she currently owns and operates her own physical therapy business.
Cherill, who many people know as the full-time certified athletic trainer at East Hampton High School, first set foot in a physical therapy office when she was 14 years old. She’d blown out her knee playing soccer and, as she explained, in those days, surgery wasn’t typically an option. Ultimately, however, the injury was an important moment in her life.
